Covering 4,588 km2, Isabela is the largest island of Galapagos and has about 2,000 inhabitants. 99% of the island is part of the National Park. You will find nearly all types of flora and fuana of the Galapagos on this island. The biggest of the five volcanes (they are still active) is called Wolf (1.707m). Sierra Negra has the second biggest crater in the world (11km2).

The most spectacular sights are situated on the western part of Isabela. Bahia Urbina, below of the Punta Tortuga Negra will bring you closer to a wonderful underwater world. A lot of different animals can be seen, for example flightless cormorants. Galapagos penguins as well as numerous marine iguanas and turtles. During the 10km rise to the Alcedo, you will see the islands typical giant tortoise. You can go up to the Alcedo crater. In each of the craters on the islands another endemic subspecies of turtles can be found.

A magnificent path will lead you through the mangrove woods where beautiful flamingos can be seen. Puerto Villamil is not just well-known for its almost Caribbean palm beaches but also as a perfect place to start walking and riding tours of up to several days, leading you to the Sierra Negra and Chico volcanoes.

Puerto Villami has 1,800 inhabitants and is the westernmost village of South America.You can walk along its beautiful palm beaches for kilometres. Isabela is a perfect place to enjoy all the beautiful sites which the Galapagos Islands offer.
